Hayden L. Howard of the 1000 block of Eden Road in Lancaster, as arrested after an investigation into CyberTips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children was sent to city police.
The uploads were matched to him through his email and IP addresses, police announced on Thursday, May 25, 2023.
"A search warrant was executed at this address—a cell phone, which Hayden L. Howard used was seized during the execution of the search warrant," police said.
On the device the police discovered the following, according to the release:
- Four images that had indecent contact with children who were under the age of 18.
- Seven digital images of children under the age of 10 who were "engaged in prohibited acts or simulating these acts."
- 28 digital images of children over the age of 10 that "engaged in prohibited sexual acts or simulating these acts."
Howard was later arrested on May 16 and charged with sexual abuse of children and criminal use of a communication facility, the police said and court records confirmed.
He has been held in the Lancaster County Prison after failing to post $10,000 in bail, according to his court docket.
His preliminary has been set before Magisterial District Judge David P. Miller at 1:30 p.m. on July 192023, as detailed in the docket.
